Anyway, I decided to share a bit about the current projects I'm working on (of which there are a few.)
The first is one that I've actually made before, but I have one in progress to use as a birthday present at the end of this month. It's a birthday wreath and it's incredibly cute and super easy. I plan to make one for myself when the gift one is done. Here's a sample picture of what I'm making.
You can bing (I prefer bing to google) "balloon birthday wreath" and find tons of tutorials on how to make one if you're interested. Or I can tell you, if you want, just hit me up in the comments below!
Next is a belated birthday present for 2 of Breckin's BFFs - they just turned 3 and I love to make them fun presents each year for their birthday (they are twins) so this is what I decided on for this year:
This project is a little more involved than the birthday wreath, but I've made a few of them before and they were fairly simple so I can usually whip a couple out in a weekend, I just have to be able to dedicate some time to the project. The tutorial for this project can be found here.
I've been working on my fabric covered picture boards (for my kitchen) since we moved into the house. I want to have one for each month of the year and have the fabric be either a holiday or seasonal pattern (based on the month) - so far I have: January (pictured below), February, March, April, July, September, October and November. I have the fabric for August and December, and only one board, so I am planning to make the August board sometime this month.
There's usually pictures, coupons, invitations, etc covering the board,
but this one had just been knocked down by Breckin so everything fell off and went everywhere.
The last of my ACTIVE projects is a crochet headband my friend Amber created (here is her Etsy shop.) I said I'd try her pattern since I'm a beginner when it comes to crocheting (I don't think there's anything below beginner... um, crochet idiot, maybe? I'm really bad!) I've gotten one headband done (presumably for me) and I'm hoping to make a matching one for Harper. Here's the "finished" project (I still have to add a button so it can be attached around my head.)
Please don't mind my stained couch, there's normally a slip cover on it, but we took it off to wash it and haven't put it back on yet. Also, this headband doesn't really look anything like the one pictured on her Etsy listing, but it still is pretty cute (right?) I'll give it a try, I usually can't/don't rock the headband, but I figured I'd go out of my comfort zone and try it one of these days when it's not 100 degrees!
Just a sampling of my non-current (but still ongoing) projects are:
ABC blocks for Breckin/Harper
I-Spy quilt for Breckin/Harper
Butterfly Mobile for Harper
ABC magnets
Quilt for my mom (I have all the fabric and most of it cut, just have to sit down and do it!)
Christmas Countdown Blocks
Neck Pillow for Breckin
And the list goes on... and on.... and on... and on... and granted, these are all projects I HAVE the supplies for, just sitting in my closet, waiting for me to work on them, but instead, what do I do? Go out and buy supplies for MORE projects... I also thought it would be fun to make everyone's Christmas presents this year, so I set about finding great presents for each person that I could make (and I mean, seriously good presents that they would like, not like "oh this is nice and you made it for me.") so I have that going on too. I seriously have a problem!
Anyway, I love to craft, when I have the time, which I don't seem to since having my second child, but I'm hoping this summer I'll have a little more since Bryce will be around more. I'll be sure to post pictures of any major projects I finish!
