April 2012

We are celebrating TWO milestones with this blog post.  First is that I'm actually posting within the first week of the month (can you believe it?! haha) and second, this is my 100th blog post!  Back when I first started this blog I never imagined I'd have anything exciting to write about, let alone writing 100 entries!  Thanks to everyone who has been following along this crazy journey our family is on!

Now onto the events of April.  We celebrated Easter with Bryce's parents and his older brother, Preston.  Since everyone's schedules were so busy we decided to do the baskets and egg hunt on Saturday (Breckin doesn't know the difference, right?) and it went so well, I think I may make it a Brimhall Family Tradition.  That way Easter Sunday can be spent focusing on the Savior!

Harper is getting SO busy and is very easily getting anywhere she wants.  She crawls super fast, pulls herself up on everything and can climb up all of our stairs without assistance (though we make sure to follow closely behind.)  She has a hard time getting down once she's standing by something, so she either cries until we put her down or she eventually topples over.  I'm sure she'll figure it out soon.  She's doing great eating solid food and LOVES french fries (what kid doesn't, right?)

Breckin is talking more and more everyday.  He's doing really well putting 2 and 3 words together.  There was a time I thought he'd never talk, but now we almost can't get him to stop!  His favorite words are: robots, bert & ernie, animal park and Go Huskies!  He loves playing outside, running around, climbing, jumping, kicking... you know, boy stuff!

Bryce is winding down the school year, and the end can't come soon enough!  It's been a hectic year for us and for him especially!  He's had over 175 students this year which has equated to hours and hours and HOURS of grading!  I know he'll be excited for a bit of a break over the summer.  Basketball is picking back up (already) but the team is progressing which is exciting!  This upcoming season shouldn't be as painful as last season was!

I'm doing well and trying to hold everything together on the home front.  With Breckin's growing need to communicate and Harper's increasing ability to get around, it's getting a little more challenging, but we make it work!  I'm still working from home (just a few hours a day) and feel very lucky to be able to contribute to our family's finances.  I'm working on a few writing projects and am hoping to have something completed by the end of summer, even for no other reason then to say "it's finished!"

We'll be traveling back to IL this summer to visit my family for a few weeks and then we hope to make it to ID and AK to visit Bryce's grandparents within the next year or so (gotta get the traveling in before Harper requires her own ticket!)  We're also hoping to make some major progress on the back yard and kids' bedrooms this summer with our extra "free" time!

Well, thanks again for following along, and here's to another wonderful 100 blog entries and the exciting times and happenings that go along with them!

Harper LOVES bath time!
She loves to splash, but doesn't love water on her face, so it's kind of funny to watch!
She is just so cute, I can't stand it!
Breckin is so curious and loves to gather and collect things.
Check out all the stuff jammed in the seat cup holder.
I love him!
Easter Baskets!
Breckin did a great job finding all his eggs and helping Harper find hers also.
Fun Easter present!
He loves swinging the bat and then chasing after the ball.
Technically Harper's Easter present, but Breckin thought he should test it out for her!
We hid WAY too many eggs I think!
Someone put the egg dye disc in his mouth!
Non-Toxic, thankfully.
Coloring eggs with Daddy.
He can't just watch!
Fun Cars jammies from Grammie and Gramps!
Harper's jammies have bright colored birds on them, they are SO cute!
Playing with their treasures at the end of the day.
Future yoga instructor?  Downward Facing Dog, anyone?

I could NOT get them to look at the camera.
Breckin loves climbing into Harper's crib (usually while she's napping) and reading books to her.
She found one of Breckin's sipper cups and finished off the water inside.
Is she really big enough for this?
Big girl climbing up the stairs.
A fun afternoon at the LA Temple
Such a happy girl!
Quick family picture before everyone started melting down.
Precious, even when she's sleeping.
