We're slowly putting together the pieces before this baby gets here! We officially have a car seat and we just received the Brimhall Family bassinet - so if this baby were born tomorrow we'd at least be able to get him/her home from the hospital and have a place for him/her to sleep.... now keeping the baby clothed and washed and and diapered and fed is a different story :) We'll get there in the next 2 months, I'm sure!
So, people say the stupidest things to pregnant ladies, I've recently experienced. I was at the grocery store, minding my own business, getting some milk (which I can't seem to keep enough of in the house it seems.) And this random, older, lady came up to me and asked when I was due (I secretly thought she was going for my belly because she walked over with such determination!) Anyway, I told her I was due on December 5th and she told me about how she'd just found out her oldest granddaughter was pregnant and it's so exciting. I agreed that it was exciting and she looked at me and said, "So December, that's a bad month." I smiled politely and said "It IS a busy month" and I turned my cart and walked away... WHO SAYS THAT? She basically said, "What a terrible time to have a baby. What bad planning on your part!" I stewed about it all the way home and then came up with the PERFECT response... I should've said "Well, we were really hoping for December 24th or 25th, right around there, but I guess we'll have to settle for December 5th."
Anyway, aside from that excitement, not too much going on here. Baby Brimhall is moving like crazy (more like punching and kicking like crazy) and at my last doctor's appointment they told me he/she was head down - keep your fingers crossed he/she decides to STAY that way! I'm fairly certain space is getting tight in there and position changing isn't going to be an option in the very near future, so we'll see.
I'm taking a sewing lesson next week (hopefully, if schedules agree) and soon I'll be able to make a few things for Baby Brimhall , but I'm trying not to be too ambitious! I do have a couple of project ideas in my head though... so we'll see what happens!
More to come... hopefully pictures of the nursery soon!

No way, December is a FANTASTIC time to have a baby. Avery was born December 1st so I had a December baby and I absolutely loved it. Would do it again any time. Except it is hard to bring the baby to everything that you have to be to-- work parties, church parties, family get togethers-- without worrying about RSV and other diseases, but what better of a time to share a sweet, innocent baby with your family. Really makes you think about Mary and Joseph also. Anyways, it's a great time to have a baby, what great planning on your part!
I find that when people make awkward comments about pregnancy, fight fire with fire by making awkward comments about the sex act that led to the pregnancy.
Oh, and even with the parties and get togethers, Tristen still let us hold her December baby. As long as we washed our hands first.
