Week 31

So the weekly count down is officially down to SINGLE digits (crazy, huh??) We're trucking along, slowly (slowly, slowly) getting things ready for the arrival of Baby Brimhall. I've definitely noticed a grown spurt the last couple of weeks (as can be seen in the picture below.)

Life is definitely getting a little more awkward and uncomfortable with each passing day. I actually said the other day "I'm moving like a pregnant lady" and it made me a little sad (it's mostly when I'm getting up off the couch or out of our bed, which is still just a mattress and box spring on the floor.)

Last night we went to see a movie and I must say MOST UNCOMFORTABLE TWO HOURS OF MY LIFE!!! I just couldn't get comfortable in that dang seat, and felt terrible for Bryce and Brittini who were sitting on either side of me, because I think I shifted positions about every 30 seconds! I nearly got up and laid out on the empty row of seats next to Bryce (because the arm rests went all the way up.) Needless to say, we'll probably do most of our movie viewing from home these next few months!

Baby Brimhall has officially set up residency in my lower rib cage area. Poor thing probably just doesn't have anywhere else to go! It certainly makes sitting for long periods of time awkward because I can't slouch like I normally do (I know, it's not good for me) so I find myself leaning back a lot to try and elongate my torso (as much as it can be!)

I've recently taken on a new challenge.... LEARNING HOW TO SEW!! I actually received a sewing machine for Christmas (2 years ago) and have yet to actually put it to use... until yesterday! A good friend, Cindy, very graciously offered (or was volunteered by her daughter, Steph, I can't remember) to teach me, so I took my sewing machine (still in the box) over to her house after work and learned how the darn thing actually works. Below you will see my first (ever) attempt at sewing. It's a burp cloth (being displayed on the gross floor by my desk at work) and it's not overly pretty, but HEY, I SEWED IT! I'm proud!

Now that I've done this, I'm getting all sorts of BIG and GRAND ideas of things I can start making... we'll see how long before I lose steam and reality sets in with what I'm actually capable of doing! All future sewing projects will be (proudly) displayed on this blog for you all to OOO00 and AAAHHH at in amazement :)

Things I'm looking forward to: a trip to Utah for a friend's wedding, Maternity pictures, setting up the nursery, the continual cooler weather... Stay tuned!!!
