Sewing Projects

So I didn't want to overload everyone in my Week 33 post and decided to post a separate entry for some of my recent sewing projects. I took a sewing lesson a couple of weeks ago from my friend, Cindy, and ever since then have been churning out the burp cloths like there's no tomorrow. I decided (thanks to the prompting of my friend, Tristen) to attempt a fairly easy dress pattern she promised me wasn't above my capability. Below are a few pictures of things of the things I've been making recently.

Here's my little sewing station at our kitchen table.
I love, love, love monkeys right now!
Lots of burp cloths are ready and waiting for Baby Brimhall to get here.
Here's the dress!
Granted it did take me a little while (I had a really hard time with ironing the creases, until my friend, Lessa, suggested pinning and then ironing which helped A LOT!) I even had to re-cut two pieces (one body piece and one sleeve) because I totally messed up on them. Also, I wouldn't want anyone to look too closely at it because I currently only have 2 colors of thread (brown and pink) and didn't want to go buy more in order to work on this, so I opted for brown, which is cute, but it TOTALLY shows all the little mistakes I made. Anyway, all in all, it's not too bad for being new to sewing, right??

Also, this does NOT mean that Baby Brimhall is going to be a girl (I've had quite a few people ask me that!) Bryce has informed me that now I have to find something to make for a baby boy, that way we have something for Baby Brimhall either way! I'll be sure to post pictures if I find (and in turn make) something cute!
