Week 29

Week 29 has come and is actually almost gone... we are almost in the single digits as far as weeks left until Baby Brimhall gets here ladies and gentleman! Can you even believe it? So, this week's picture shows MUCH growth in the belly area, but I really think it seems so drastic because last week's picture was like some kind of optical illusion because of the shirt I was wearing.

Check it out:

Not too many changes from last week, except that Baby Brimhall is getting bigger and stronger and has decided to wage an all out war on my rib cage. Honestly Baby, what did my ribs ever do to you?? People keep talking about when he/she decides to go after my lungs and how much fun that will be... I think I've had little previews the last day or two. I'll feel a little bit of pressure and suddenly gasp for air - he/she is just teasing me apparently.

Last weekend I had a wonderful baby shower, which you can see pictures from in my previous post, and the new accumulation of baby stuff in our house is a constantly reminder of how many things we DON'T have (like a crib, for instance!) We still have a little time, but it seems like the weeks are just flying by at this point!

Bryce is keeping busy with school and the beginnings of basketball, a few practices and games here and there to get our feet wet before the all out madness begins! Have I shared with you a direct quote from Bryce pertaining to the birth of Baby Brimhall and basketball season (which inconveniently coincide.) I apologize if I've already shared this, but it just makes me laugh, he said to our friend Mike (who coaches with Bryce) while we were out registering: "If the baby is born on the actual due date (December 5th) then I'll probably only miss 1 game." Hahaha, I love this man!

As for me, I'm trying to survive our most recent heat wave (crossing my fingers that it ends this week like they say it's supposed to.) It's been over 100 almost every day this week!! I have a doctor's appointment this week and I'm going to ask the NP when they can give me a guess as to how big this baby is going to be (lots of people were asking at my shower and I hadn't even thought about it, but it might be a nice thing to know!) Besides that I'm just trying to stay comfortable (which proves difficult when you have baby parts jamming you from every direction!) Ooo, also I'm getting a new chair at work. The one I'd been using was kind of broken in that you couldn't control the up and down - you could put it all the way up and it would slowly (and sometimes not so slowly) sink as the day went on. It wasn't ever a problem before, but now getting in and out of a low, low chair has been more and more difficult, so after a fruitless attempt to fix my chair, I was told I'd be getting a new one... it's amazing how the little things excite me these days!

Check back next week as we begin THE FINAL COUNTDOWN!
