It's been a busy first month for our little Harper! LOTS of visitors (including all her cousins, both sets of grandparents and most of her aunts and uncles!) and we've gone on many adventures! I'll start with her first check up with her doctor.

We finally made it in (thanks to our insurance company making it so difficult) when she was about 3.5 weeks old. She weighed in at 7 lbs. 15 oz. (can you believe it?? She's gained almost 2 whole pounds in less than a month!) She measured 20 and 3/4 inches (a gain of over 2 inches!) The doctor said everything else seemed great and to bring her back in at 2 months.

Everything else with Harper has been going wonderfully! She eats great (much better than Breckin ever did!) and sleeps very well. She usually sleeps a 5-6 hour stretch during the night and then eats every couple of hours through out the rest of the day, sleeping in stretches here and there. She is definitely spending more time awake which is fun.

Breckin is still adjusting to Harper's constant presence. If I'm not paying close attention to his "tired signals" he can do some real damage. Just the other day he took his basketball (in answer to Bryce's question right afterwards, yes it was a REAL basketball) and dropped it on her while she slept in her bouncer seat. He's also taken books off the bookshelves and thrown them into her bassinet (while she was sleeping in there.) Generally right after something like this happens, I put him in his crib for a "time out" and he usually falls asleep before I go to take him out. Aside from these tired outbursts, he loves his baby sister and is always hugging and kissing her and wanting to hold her.

Now for the last couple of weeks in pictures!

Trying for a picture of Grandma and the two babies.

Grandma and Baby Harper

Another attempt for a picture of the three of them.

And yet another attempt.

Breckin and Daddy at the zoo.

I love watching him run and this picture makes me smile for some reason.

Harper slept almost the entire time at the zoo.

Breckin fell asleep by the end of the day.
He was so tired he fell asleep in mid-eating!

Harper did finally wake up for a moment.

Breckin helping Grandpa water the front lawn.

Does he look excited to be at the Wild Animal Park??

Riding the Tram through Africa :)

Harper and Grandpa on the Tram.

HHmmm, those no bake cookies were GOOD!

Breckin and Grandpa shredding papers
(one of his recent favorite activities!)

Harper with eyes wide open!

Playing at the park!

Harper enjoying the park too.

This was the first time he ever attempted the ladder and he made it all the way to the top!
He's definitely a climber!

Grandpa and the babies.
(Learned the secret: tire Breckin out at the park for at least 45 minutes before attempting a picture! hahaha)
