Month 5

Well, month 5 has come and gone in what seems like the blink of an eye! I can't believe Breckin is getting so big! He's doing more and more every day and looking less and less like a baby by the second! I took him into the doctor last week for his weigh in after starting on the rice cereal. In that one month he gained 13 oz and grew 1 inch. So at 5 months he was 11 lbs and 14 oz and 24 3/4 in. The doctor said as long as he doubled his birth weight by his 6 month appointment we wouldn't worry too much. I didn't ask about the spitting up because over the last few weeks it has decreased a lot. Breckin will go entire days without spitting up at all, so I think we've turned a corner when it comes to that. In other news, we've moved Breckin up to 3-6 month clothes and he's become quite the master of the back to front roll over. He even does it when he's swaddled at night! This kid has got incredibly strong legs!

Now for the pictures...

I think he thinks he's bigger than he is; here he is trying to hold his own bottle.
Here he is opening his Easter basket.
Again, thinking he's big enough to pick it up!
We got him Easter eggs that looked like basketballs (of course!)
And a few little basketball themed things for his bedroom.

Taking a nap with daddy.
Here's Bryce putting together our new basketball hoop.
If you look near his left eye you'll see a scratch; it happened while he was taking the nap pictured above with Bryce.
Bryce has no idea how it happened. We called Breckin "scarface" for a few days...
Finished product.
He's really enjoying spending time in his jumper. One of these days he'll actually start jumping in it.
We needed a hat for him for his first hike and this was all we could find!
Visiting Uncle Preston.
Hiking with mommy.
Us at the turning back point of the hike.
Bryce took Breckin on the way back.
This is what Breckin thought about the hike.
He did wake up just in time to get back in the car.
Out to eat one night. I think every waitress in the place found an excuse to come by our table and see Breckin.
We helped out with the Special Olympics a few weeks ago and Breckin was making friends as usual!

Grammie and Gramps got Breckin this fun bean bag chair. It's still a little big for him!

Newest thing he does: sucks on his own toes!
And still everything goes into his mouth!
I know it's late, but we got this on the clearance rack at Babies R Us. It was too cute not to buy!
Shooting hoops with dad!

Loving his rice cereal!

Whew, lots of pictures this month! Next month we'll have 6 month pictures to share!
