Week 36

The last month!! 4 weeks left!! Next week Baby Brimhall will no longer be considered pre-mature if he/she decides to show up early! All these things are seriously CRAZY to even think about, but that doesn't make them any less true!

Everyone keeps asking "How are you feeling?" and to be quite honest... I feel the same... it's not like I crossed into the 9th month and suddenly FELT really pregnant. I do feel bigger and putting on my socks and shoes it getting increasingly more difficult, but I'm haven't reached the "get this kid out of me" portion of this experience (and maybe I never will.)

I'm still sleeping considerably well. I do wake up every time I need to roll over, but I promptly fall back asleep, and I'm only getting up 1-2 times to use the bathroom (for awhile there it felt like I was getting up 5-6 times a night!) However, despite all the good sleep I'm getting at night, I'm still pretty exhausted throughout the day.

In addition to the "How are you feeling?" question, I'm also getting the "How much longer are you going to work?" question - and to be honest, I don't have a set "last day of work" in mind... I'm just planning to tough it out as long as I can and my boss is pretty SUPER flexible and wonderful and basically letting us play it by ear. If I do "quit" working before the baby is actually born I'll probably just stop coming into the office every day and continue to do as much as I can from home, which is also the plan for after the baby is born (and I have a reasonable amount of time to adjust.) I'll probably come into the office a couple of times a month for a few hours and the rest of the time I'll do a good chunk of work from home... I really feel VERY lucky in my situation! Especially because I have VERY willing in-laws who have offered to watch Baby Brimhall ANY time I need to go into the office (which is less then 2 miles from their house!) I'm very blessed!

Let's see... I've pretty much resigned myself to the fact that the nursery is NOT going to be "done" before the baby is born, which is fine, the baby will be crashing in our room in a bassinet for the first couple of months, which gives me time to put the nursery together before moving him/her over there... additionally, I'm fairly certain he/she won't really care what the nursery looks like as long as there's a place to sleep.

What else... at my doctor's appointment last week they offered me the H1N1 vaccine and I declined and was immediately looked at like I was crazy - I didn't want to tell them I was 99% sure I'd just gotten over the Swine Flu the week before and was therefore not needing the vaccine anymore.

Tonight we have our 3rd (of 4) "Prepared Child Birth" classes... Bryce is more than a LITTLE excited to not have to go to those anymore. Every week he says "We could cover the information in 45 minutes, but instead we're there for 2 hours" - I think he's just annoyed that he has to missed basketball practice to go with me! Tonight we're actually learning the breathing techniques, which is really that part that I've been waiting for, so hopefully he'll feel like it's a productive use of time!

I think that's about all for this week... we took our maternity pictures last weekend, once I get the disc of pictures I'll be sure to post some for your viewing pleasure...

Until then................
