So I know that Breckin was technically 18 months at the end of May and it's now mid-July, but this was the first chance we had to go get his check up done. First we were waiting for his platelet count to be normal (which is finally was at the beginning of June.) Then I wasn't feeling up to taking him, then he had a bit of a cold (fever and cough) then they couldn't get us in first thing in the morning until today (July 18th), so here we are.
So here are a few updates on Breckin and his current development:
So here are a few updates on Breckin and his current development:
~He's weighing in at 22.25 lbs. (he's moved up from below 5th percentile to between 5th-10th percentile.)
~His height is 33.25 in. (he's between 50th-75th percentile.)
~He's consistently saying between 10-12 words (this, that, those, yes, mama, dada, thanks, up, splash, cup, more, out)
~He's started this new thing where he likes to sleep with a blanket (not really a specific blanket, though the same one has been in his crib for the last month or so) and when he goes to sleep he drapes the blanket across his middle (I think there's a picture of this later on.) It's quite funny.
~He can point to his nose, ears, tongue and teeth when asked (about 80% of the time.)
~He can point out mom or dad in a picture, as well as a dog, cat, monkey or baby.
~His favorite shows are WordWorld, Super Why, Eureka (a random sci fi show Bryce and I like to watch), Follow that Bird, Muppets Take Manhattan and Kung Fu Panda.
~He has recently started catching a ball. Only bigger ones, like a four square or dodgeball ball, anything smaller and it goes right through his arms.
~When he wants to go outside (or leave wherever we are at the moment) he'll get his shoes and bring them to me or Bryce.
~He points to my belly (about 75% of the time) when asked where the baby is (still don't think he really "gets" it hahaha we'll see in a few weeks!)
So we bought a new camera, which I am very excited about (it's a Nikon D3100 for any who are interested.) All these pictures I'm posting today were taken with the new camera! I don't even know how to really use it yet, but I can already tell the difference just using some of the automatic settings! Now for the pictures...
Here he is pointing to his tongue.
This is his fake crying face (we get this alot.)
He's a climber.
Playing with daddy on the exercise ball (at least it's getting used for something.)
Waiting for the game to start.
HHmmm, cheetoes, one of his favorite game snacks.
Sitting in his friend Taylor's bumbo.
Out to lunch with Uncle Preston and Aunt Ann.
Playing the piano at Grammie and Gramps house.
Out in the backyard playing.
Just doing a little "light" reading.
Climbing again.
Swimming with our friends the Hansens.

Just a little post-swimming snack.
He loves to sweep, so we got him his own broom.
Meeting Elmo at Taylor's birthday party.
(He LOVED Elmo and wouldn't leave him alone the entire time we were there.
Here he is, draped in his blanket, even when it's hot outside
(we recently bought him a fan for his room to try and compensate.)
One of the pictures we took when trying to take his 18 month pictures.
Wearing Aunt Ann's hat on 4th of July.
Look, I DO have hair!!
Helping Daddy sweep after mowing the lawn.
Putting change in his bank, one of the few things that will keep him still for more than a few seconds.

ivan had his 15 month appointment yesterday and is 26.5 lbs
he too has been having a blanket at bedtime routine the last month or more. i lay his blanket on him and he grabs one of the ties and sticks one in him mouth. Im sure its because he's getting all his back molars in but its pretty cute.
