I can't believe Breckin is already 6 weeks old! The time has been FLYING by! Anyway, a few random tidbits of info:
*According to our bathroom scale, Breckin is currently weighing it at about 8 lbs. 10 oz. We haven't tried to measure his length yet, but he definitely FEELS longer to me. We'll try and get an estimate in the next week.
*Breckin is starting to make all sorts of fun noises, I'll try and get some on video to upload here in the next week or so.
*On average he's been sleeping one 6 hour stretch each night (usually from 10pm - 4am or 11pm - 5am) I feel like I'm getting a whole night's sleep these days.
*Breckin LOVES going on walks, we went out 3 mornings this past week on walks and he just fell asleep in his stroller and enjoyed himself!
*He's also coming around on his swing, I put him in there the other day, fully awake and having just eaten, and within 30 minutes he'd fallen asleep (can you tell how I know if he likes something? It usually involves him sleeping!)
*Speaking of sleeping, Breckin LOVES to be swaddle when he's sleeping. Sometimes I'll forget to swaddle him and he won't stay asleep very long and that's because when he's not swaddle his arms are ALWAYS up by his face and usually moving all over the place at the same time, so combine this with trying to sleep and he always manages to wake himself up.
*I'm about to move Breckin out of the newborn clothes and into the 0-3 months, but I'm holding out as long as I can!
*He still does a fantastic job of holding up his head and now whenever you're holding him in a position that allows him to, he LOVES to "stand" - obviously he's not really standing, but he definitely straightens his legs and puts weight on them - this kid is seriously going to start walking ANY day :)
*Lastly, he's getting closer and closer every day to smiling. I'm taking pictures like crazy trying to catch one!
As for Mom and Dad, we're both doing well. Bryce went back to school this week after being off for two weeks for Christmas break. Needless to say, it was hard for all of us. His first day back, Breckin and I walked up to school to take Bryce his lunch (since I'd forgotten to make it the night before.) Then on Thursday we walked up and actually had lunch with Bryce, which was fun, but we actually got mobbed with visitors (word spread VERY quickly that Breckin was there!) and didn't get to spend much time eating :) Breckin is already a popular kid at Centennial! Lots of offers of babysitters and requests for him to come to class! I'm actually getting ready to start back to work in the next week or so. I have some software to upload onto my computer and then we'll go from there, it'll be nice to try and get into a routine of some kind.
Okay, okay, now to the pictures!
We blessed Breckin at church on the 3rd.
Here he is in the little outfit we got for the event.
Here's the "paparazzi" wanting to get pictures of him.
Grammie and Gramps and all the grandkids.
We tried Breckin in the bumbo for the first time this week too. He didn't do too bad with it.
Here he is, contently watching TV with his dad!
We inherited a crib this week (thanks Brian and Judy!!) and so our nursery is actually starting to LOOK like a nursery!
Now I just need to organize all this stuff!
Here we are visiting Bryce's classroom on Wednesday night before the basketball game. Of course we HAD to get a picture with The Great Gatsby.
Here's Bryce showing Breckin the literary timeline in his classroom (he's pointing out Walt Whitman in this picture.)
Here is Breckin (again) with "Uncle Walt"
On Friday Breckin and I went down to Murrieta to have lunch with my good friends Kristin and Trish. Kristin is the one who took my belly pictures each week while I was pregnant, and we thought it would be fun to go take a picture there with me and Breckin. I love this picture just because of his scowl!
I can't believe how big he's getting!
Kristin and Breckin.
We finally opened up the activity mat we got at my shower (forever ago!) and decided to let Breckin try it out.
He doesn't seem to hate it!
There's so much to look at.
Here's an almost smile! He's just getting warmed up I think!
Alright, there will definitely be more to come... if there's anything specific you want to know or see, just let me know in the comments!
